21 Debuts at Art of the Olympians
On Friday, August 5, guests to the Art of the Olympians Museum and Gallery will see a unique exhibition entitled 21. The show will open in the Olympic Art Gallery and features artwork done by 21 Olympian Artists including Peggy Fleming, Shane Gould, Florence Griffith-Joyner, and Bob Beamon. The exhibit features artwork is a variety of mediums from acrylics to photography and sculpture.
The artist perspective, 21, will be open for visitors during Art Walk on August 5 for no charge. Dana Alveraz and Loren Vargas of the Young Artist will also perform.
Visitors will also get an introduction to the world of Table Tennis through the organization's newest, interactive exhibition in the Olympic Sports Gallery. The Table Tennis exhibition will officially open on September 2, and will feature unique sports memorabilia on loan from the International Table Tennis Federation Museum in Switzerland.
As a prelude to the opening of the Table Tennis Showcase on September 2, visitors will be able to test to test their Table Tennis skills on regulations tables in the Olympic sports Gallery beginning August 5. Visitors will play against one of the two Newgy Robo-Pongs, a training robot used to improve a players’ technique, stroke through timed drills for $2 a session.
The Table Tennis Showcase opens September 2 and will run through October 3.
