Children at Healthpark Draw Inspiration
Hope and courage are displayed in many forms, and children at Healthpark’s Oncology ward will put paint to paper on Friday to share their stories and outline their inspirations as part of Art of the Olympians "Life in Full Color" program.
Olympians from around the world will visit the children and engage them in artistic activities to establish a creative environment that encourages constructive responses to illness.
An athlete’s journey towards excellence was achieved by looking deep within themselves to find motivation to move forward when obstacles became too much. By training the body in sport and the mind in art, literature, poetry, and music, individuals created a balance in mind, body and spirit.
Art of the Olympians Education and Outreach programs aim to encourage and motivate students to look for hope and never give up through the exemplary examples of self-determination in our Olympians’ personal stories.
Olympians Artists will connect with children battling illness, their families, and health care providers to bring the arts into the mainstream of restoring bodily, mental and spiritual health.
