Robots Donated to Olympic Sport Museum

Art of the Olympians  Museum and Gallery (AOTO) has recently expanded its permanent collection due to a generous donation from Newgy Industries, Inc., the world leader in table tennis robots/ball machines. Newgy is renowned for high quality, smartly engineered table tennis products that are also affordable.

 

Newgy Robo-Pong® is an interactive robot used to play and practice table tennis anytime. The Newgy Robo-Pong is by professional and Olympic table tennis players to practice and train.

 

Table Tennis enthusiasts, Marvin and Caron Leff, have been competing nationally in table tennis for more than four decades. Both Marvin and Caron have a deep passion for Table Tennis, and were an integral in the development of the Table Tennis Showcase, which preimeres at AOTO on September 2. AOTO has also received a donation of two regulation tables.

 

Marvin Leff won his first table tennis championship in 1949 and began coaching in 1964. Marvin was even inducted into the Florida Table Tennis Hall of Fame in 1996. Caron Leff was appointed at the Ambassador of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Museum in 2006 and was the first woman to receive this honor.

 

As a prelude to the opening of the Table Tennis Showcase on September 2, visitors will be able to test to test their Table Tennis skills on regulations tables in the Olympic sports Gallery beginning August 5. Visitors will play against one of the two Newgy Robo-Pongs, a training robot used to improve a players’ technique, stroke through timed drills for $2 a session.
