July 27 – August 12 – Art of the Olympians travels to London to share in the Olympic Celebration for the London 2012 Games. AOTO will host an interactive pop-up exhibition in the heart of the Olympic experience. The AOTO exhibition brings together Olympic memorabilia, artwork by Olympians, interactive opportunities and engaging exhibits showcase the true essence of the Olympics. AOTO has partnered with Global Sports Development to bring unique programs and seminars to its visitors. The exhibition will be on display at University College London from July 27 until August 12. The exhibit is open 10am-8pm daily in the Main Watkins Building on Gower Street.
May 12, 2012 - September 2, 2012 - The Olympic Games: Art, Culture & Sport – Greenwich, CT - Through a cooperative effort with the Bruce Museum, Art of the Olympians work is on display in their museum’s latest exhibit, The Olympic Games: Art, Culture and Sport. The Just in time for the London 2012 Summer Olympic Games, this exhibition compares the ancient and modern Olympiads through objects, art, science and technology and follows the sports that have endured since antiquity – footraces, wrestling, boxing, and the ancient pentathlon events of long jump, javelin, discus, sprints, and wrestling. Spanning the breadth of Olympic history, the show investigates the subplots of the games from the celebration of the competitors to the role of the spectators. A custom-built six-foot mini-diorama recreating one of the earliest Greek stadiums sports more than 1,200 miniature participants.
